African-American Christmas Angel: Glitter Caroller
Standing tall in a long sleeved fitted gown in soft yellow  which flares into generous folds at the floor, this angel holds a Christmas songbook at arms-length high above her head. She throws back her head to fully hit those top notes. Her unusually shaped wings are purely imaginary and heavily encrusted with sparkling glitter which deepens the color contrast  with the glittering gown. Besides their overall shape, the feathers of the wings are divided into vertical layers. Attention to detail in craftmanship is seen in the folded pages of the book, the facial expression of the angel, and the abstract rendering of the thick curves and waves of black hair. Distributed by Enesco, Cincinnati, Ohio. Probably resin, imported. Collected prior to 2006.
